Be a REBEL

  • A "presentation" REBEL is defined as someone who:

Revolts against the ordinary and fights for change. A rebel engages with the people and world around them through tireless contribution. He or she bestows their knowledge and shares their gifts with others, which in turn equips their listeners with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to help them grow and become extraordinary. And most importantly, a rebel lives life to the fullest. In the words of a wise man, they understand that life is not a “got to” moment, but a “get to” moment.”

Pure Energy

E

veryone wants more energy. After all, who wouldn't want to have more zest and energy for their daily activities? Here are a few tips to keep your energy level up. These are things I try to do on a routine basis to make sure that I can live every day at an optimal level, particularly in the public speaking arena:

Exercise
I excercise daily. This usually consists of 30-35 miles a week of running. Some people like to exercise in the mornings while others enjoy relieving stress after a full day of work. I would recommend waking up early to excercise. Studies indicate that early morning activity is better for your body, and you can receive greater benefits since it gets your metabolism burning and oxygenates your blood as you begin your day.

Eat Healthy
I like to follow a 10g sat fat diet rule. I have never had weight problems, but I want to protect my heart. Thus, I always watch my saturated fat and cholesterol intake. If I keep it at 10 grams or less I am generally eating healthy. Plus, the healthier I eat the better I feel.

Read
If you're not growing, you're dying. I love to learn. I am like a sponge and I am always seeking new ideas. All in all, I try to read a book a week or at least one every two weeks. Reading keeps you sharp and informed.

Pray
I'm a Christian. I grew up in the church and have been active with my faith since I can remember. Spending a few moments each day with my creator keeps me focused.

Time for You
Dedicate time just for you. In our nanosecond culture, it's hard to find time just to focus on you. I like to use this time particularly when I am working out in the morning. It's a good time for me to reflect and be thankful for everything in my life. It also allows me to focus on what is on my schedule for the day. It's a great way to stay centered.

Maintain Healthy Relationships
Healthy relationships keep you healthy. Toxic relationships kill your energy. Spend time with those you love and appreciate.

Well, those are a few things that I do to keep me focused, centered, and energetic.

What gives you energy?

Scott, this is fantatic. My father taught me to always be training your body or your mind for something. Preferably both. If we do not grow we are stagnating, or worse, receding.

I exercise first thing each morning, stive to learn something constantly, change my routine regularly (even if it means driving a different route to get home, it is good to shake things up a bit and try new things), my husband and I pray together and take kickboxing classes together. (the family that kicks together, sticks together!).

Family/friend relationships are extremely important to us. Follow those guidelines you posted and your life WILL be vibrant in every way. great post.

Thanks, Franki. I love that you and your husband can pray together. My wife and I always seem to struggle to make that a habit. We do it individually, but have a hard time making time to pray with each other.
