My Favorite Presentation Resources
D
o you have a great idea for a presentation, but you don't know where to start? A lot of people ask me what types of resources I like to use to build my presentations.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Presentation Philosophy
Presentation Zen: This is probably the best online resource for presentations. Garr Reynold’s tips on building, designing, and delivering presentations are excellent.
Presenters University: This site is sponsored by InFocus. If you are you looking for great articles, tips, and resources then this is a site to check out.
Beyond Bullets: This web site is run by Cliff Atkinson who is the author of Beyond Bullet Points. Cliff is a guru with anything related to using PowerPoint effectively.
Software
MacBook Pro: Convert to Apple, if you haven’t already. It’s the essential laptop for presentations.
iWork: If you are looking for a superior alternative to PowerPoint and Word – choose iWork. It offers Keynote and Pages – two programs that will help you deliver stunning presentations.
Adobe Creative Suite: Includes InDesign, Photoshop, GoLive, and Illustrator. It’s a great package for designers.
Quicktime Pro: It’s a must if you want to add great videos to your presentation.
iPhoto: Great for sorting all of your presentation photos.
Slides
iStockphoto.com: This is my favorite royalty free photo site. You can’t beat a $1 photo.
DreamsTime: Inexpensive with a limited selection.
Fotolia: A nice alternative if looking for $1 images.
Shutterstock: Great photos with a subscription.
Jupiter Images: Great selection if you are willing to incur the costs.
Quotes
Brainy Quote: This is my favorite. Very easy to navigate.
Quotations Page: Great selection. Search by author and subject.
Famous-Quotes-and-Quotations: A great resource and collection.
Quoteland: Great variety and easy to navigate.
Cool Quotes: Helpful. Not as sophisticated as the others.
Miscellaneous
Dictionary: Looking to enhance your presentation vocabulary? Go here.
Typepad: Create a blog to build your personal relevancy.
YouTube: Download some great videos for your next presentation.
SourceTV: Download some of the best commercials and music videos out there.
Go Daddy: Build a web site for yourself. This is one of the most affordable and reliable solutions.
Enjoy!

Hi, Scott:
Did you know that iStock sells stock video clips now, too? $5 for a 30 sec. to two-minute clip at the size that would be great in a presentation.
